Why I quit Diet Coke and I'm happy about it-My weight loss journey

I know that this post isn't what I normally post about. I have been wanting to share this part of my life for a while now, but I was too scared. So, today I'm going to quit being scared. I am going to start a new addition to the blog about Redesigning Your Life. I want to share some of the tips that I am learning from an amazing weight loss group & nutritionist. So, look for these posts to be happening starting next week!

Onto why I quit Diet Coke and I'm happy about it..

Yep, I quit Diet Coke, I didn't die and I'm happy about it. Why did I quit Diet Coke? Well, I have been in denial about my weight and the fact that the scale kept going up...the past few years. I turned 35 in January and I decided that I was sick and tired of being of sick and tired. I was tired of having to wear a "sucker" or spanx every time I got dressed because I didn't feel comfortable in my clothes without them. I was sick of feeling hungry all the time and I was totally over my ridiculous sugar addiction.

This is me 30 days ago & 18 lbs. heavier.

I am so excited to be on a weight loss journey that is finally working for me! I have been trying to lose weight, unsuccessfully for years! It didn't matter what I did, I couldn't get the weight to come off and stay off.  I discovered a product in January that I was so excited to try! However, I got sick and wasn't able to really do anything until February. So, in the past 4 weeks, to date..I have lost 19 lbs.  What is it that I am doing? I am using Isagenix & I feel awesome!!

If you are unfamiliar with Isagenix, let me give you a quick rundown of what it is & how it works. Isagenix is a 2 shake a day, one 400-600 calorie meal a day plan.  You can choose to eat your meal at lunch or dinner. Besides this, you drink a lot of water. 100 oz a day.  You also drink a product that helps cleanses your system daily.

Why  this system? I had tried other weight loss groups in the past and they didn't work for me. I would kill myself and eat so well and I wouldn't lose anything!  I was sick of feeling sick of tired. I was sick of allowing food to control my life. I would wake up thinking about food and go to bed thinking about food. I wasn't eating to live, I was living to eat.  I turned 35 in January &  I decided that had had enough! I was going to start to care about me, how I felt, how I looked and most importantly, start to like who I was again.

I’m not going to lie, this is a not an overnight fix. This is not a diet, it’s a lifestyle change. This is not a program that you will be on for the rest of your life. Once you hit your goal, you can just maintain.  I have been off of Diet Coke for over 2 months. I don’t eat sugar. Well not treats, cookies, candy etc.  I don’t eat sugar that I can control.  When I first started this, I wanted sugar all the time! If I ate anything, I wanted something sweet to chase it with.  I don’t crave sugar like I used to. I don’t NEED to have it.  Sure, I occasionally want it, but the cravings are nothing compared to what they used to be.  (Lemon sugar free gum has saved me)

I got dressed this morning & I put on a some pants and a t-shirt & they were loose! I ran out to my husband and excitedly told him that I was shrinking!  I can’t tell you how great it is to look in the mirror and see my body changing.  I feel better than I have ever felt before. I have far more energy than I ever remember having & I’m starting to like water!  My body is starting to work the way it is supposed to! Did I mention that I am starting to like what  I see in the mirror?

So, if you want to know more about Isagenix, here is link to my site.  I want to make sure that you all know that this program is helping me reach my weight loss goals. It's not doing it for me. I still have to make good food choices, drink a ton of water, exercise & avoid sugar. BUT..this program is helping me & I want it to help you too.

You need to know that you are worth it! You deserve to feel awesome and like who you are! Most importantly, you are worth it.  Please remember this. There are far too many people in this world who want you to feel worthless & not good enough. I am here to tell you that are, no matter what!

PS-Follow me on Instagram. I share some of my food ideas and things that are working for me on there that I don't always share on my blog.
