LDS YW Lesson Handout-Resisting Sin

I am the mia-maid adviser in my ward. I have the opportunity to teach every other week.My lesson this week is on Resisting Sin.

I love giving my girls a little something to help them remember what the lesson was about. When I went looking online, I couldn’t find anything for this lesson. So, I did the next best thing. I made my own.

I made a handout and I also found a fantastic talk by Patricia Pingree, “Increase in fath.” I loved how she outlined how we can remember the savior in our everyday choices. By doing this, we are able to keep Satan and his temptations at bay.

I also loved the analogy that Elder Ballard talked about in his conference talk, “O that cunning plan of the evil one.” I am planning on showing the first 2 minutes of his talk to my class.

My handout was a simple one. I love treats and so do my girls, so I always try to come up with something that has to do with a treat.

LDS YW handout Sin

I went to wal-mart..(I so hate that store) & looked at the candy aisle until some sort of idea hit me.

“Sin is nothing to SNICKER about.” I picked up the snickers bars that they sell in the $dollar$ packs.  Is it just me, or did these packs used to be bigger? Anyway…

And, because it’s me,and I can’t leave well enough alone. I printed out the quote, cut it out and attached it to some thick scrapbook paper that I had in my stash.

I then pulled out my washi tape collection and cut “flags” out to give it a finishing touch.

Super simple!

Hope that this idea helps you out!

Happy Creating!

And you are right, those "packs" of candy bars used to be bigger, and cheaper.
