Something else besides decorating

So, I went to the Dr. today.
I'm sure that you are thinking..why?
And why are you telling us?
Well, I figure that I can't be the only one who feels like I want to kill someone at least once a day.
Or that I am the only one who sometimes has the patience of an egg shell.
I can't be the only one.
I just can't be!
So, I'm writing about it.
I'm also going to write about the stupid scale and how it can totally ruin my day.
I am also going to tell all of you that I am super annoyed with myself because I have been doing
Weight Watchers for the past 2 1/2 weeks and I am up!
Really?
Are you kidding me?
I'm trying to be so good and exercise & not eat every sugary thing in the house.
Have I ever mentioned that I am addicted to sugar as well as Diet Coke?
Yea, it's bad.
So, there you have it.
I'm on a diet, lifestyle change and I occasionally want to rip someones head off.
Sometimes, when I talk to some people they stress me out so much, I just want to EAT something by the time we hang up.
Usually something really, really sweet.
Say, Sweetened condensed milk?
Can I get an amen?
If you don't like sweetened condensed milk-I'm so sorry for you, but please insert something that you must eat when you are uber stressed.
If you are one of those people who want to exercise instead of eat when they are stressed...
Just don't tell me that. (not today anyway)

So, I have a couple of questions for you..
Please tell me that I am not the only one who is starting a lifestyle change, aka diet?
Also, share if you want to occasionally choke someone or throw a chair at them.
If you don't want to admit that, you had to at least giggle when read this pin..

On a totally un-joking note.
I hope that I didn't offend anyone.
If I did, I apologize.
Sometimes I get overwhelmed with my life and I know that I can't be the only one who feels this way.
So, I thought if I made you feel comfortable knowing that you are not the only one who is freak, we could be better friends. :)

So, please share if you are trying to be good at this whole eating thing.
Also, feel free to share what you are doing and/or eating so you can stay on track.

We're all in this together..why not help each other out?!

I will be back soon..maybe tomorrow..to show you the new couch
and the ridiculous amount of Halloween decor.

Pretty sure that this pin describes me to a tee.

At least that's what my husband says.

  2. My husband and I started a diet today. and we had the missionaries for dinner. I forgot and ate a cupcake. So bummed!!

Oh, and I am starving! And I run everyday and don't lose any weight, so don't buy into that whole exercise garbage skinny people try to feed you! LOL

  3. I love your blog. It always makes me feel better when I'm stressed/depressed/upset/moody.

I am always on a diet/lifestyle, but now I am focusing on what I can and should eat instead of what I can't. So I have a list of things I need to eat in a day - proteins, veggies, legumes, some fruit. It is healthy and makes me feel much better.

Except that I keep accidentally having a piece of my daughter's homemade apple pie. I'm up 10 lbs.

    Keep up the good work!

  4. Seriously, sweetened condensed milk drizzled over strawberries is the BEST! I had it numerous times for dessert when I lived in Costa Rica. Make sure you cut up the strawberries first. They also put condensed milk on their sno-cones and occasionally add a layer of powdered milk. Yep those ticos son brilliantes.
But I digress, my original point was to have you read the blog 100daysofrealfood.com. Good ideas and pointers on how to start out eating healthier. You DON'T have to eat real food for 100 days, don't worry. She does have a 10 day real food challenge that my hubby and I did and I continued eating real food (read: no processed junk foods or sugar, but a lot of fruits, veggies, chicken, eggs, etc). In the grand scheme of things 10 days is nothing and I felt SO much better cause I have a total sugar addiction too. I decided it has to be all or nothing with me though; I thought I could handle a Snickers bar but that was the catalyst that sucked me back under the river of high fructose corn syrup. Sorry don't get me started this is something I'm really passionate about. I watched the documentary 'Food, Inc.' and it changes the way you view what you are putting in your body. I think as a natural consequence, when you start eating right then you want to get up and move your body cause you have so much ENERGY (read 'Born to Run' by Christopher McDougall) I listen to it when I run and it motives me to keep on, keep on going. It basically demonstrates that every human being is an athlete and out bodies were meant to run and move around and do fun exercisy things but technology has gotten in the way with all out internetting and desk jobs, etc. I started seriously running after reading this book and I love what it's doing to my body and my mind. I get to go outside (and barring any cougar or bear attacks in my neck of the woods), I get a full hour or more just being with myself and nature and unscrambling the thoughts in my hearts. Like a running meditation. Good Luck!

  8. I LOVE the sayings. It's SO me. Just keep trying to eat right, exercise, tell yourself "is this REALLY that important to get upset over" and deep breaths. Keep your head up and know your not alone!!!!

  9. OMG! I laughed my head off at this one. I am one of the least patient/tolerant people out there! Add in 3rd trimester hormones and I'm pretty impossible right now and perpetually ornery! I've repinned most of these saying off your Pinterest account. Keep them coming as they are often the motto I live by!;)Wished we lived closer, I have a feeling we'd be great friends.

  10. Are you having problems counting points, or what? I thought Weight Watchers was the easiest thing I've ever done. Lost 25 pounds and kept it off as a Life Time member for several years. Discovered the 17 Day Diet earlier this year and found that even easier and lost 15 pounds without counting anything or ever feeling hungry. Amazing! My stress go to food is potato chips. I try not to have them in the house too often because of that very reason.
As for ripping someone's head off (I hope it's not mine after what I shared above) YES, I have a head in mind right now. It has nothing to do with food though. I just find that whenever there are a large group of women someone always has to make life difficult. I seem to be on the receiving end of that crap lately. Did I mention I'm a Red Hat Queen? Off with her head!!!

  11. Very funny post! I need to be on a life style change....to loose a few, well a lot of the extra pounds. A while back I tried the "Green Light, Red Light" diet...check it out..I did loose weight then...maybe I should check it out again myself..since I believe I am eating all the red light food. But its so good......

  12. What a riot! You crack me up! Really! And I'm not laughing AT you but WITH you. With you because I've been there many times, many days, more often than I care to admit.

Our bodies go through so much turmoil shooting hormones off like a bunch of firecrackers. Unfortunately, it's all connected.

I think that's where our creative outlets comes in to play. I have that same reaction when I'm at my witt's end, but I end up in the tortilla chips. I don't know, the chomping seems to sooth the madness - lol!

Sometimes I'll grab a pair of pruners and whack the crap out of a shrub instead. Don't know if it's helping the anxiety, but the yard's starting to shape up.

Weening yourself of all those sugary starches does really make a difference. I've found it takes me a good two weeks to adjust to the madness. After that, my body doesn't seem to crave all that junk and it's a matter of planning and discipline.

That being said, I need to QUIETLY close up these Reese's Puffs that somehow found their way along side my keyboard and... carry on!

    Best wishes to you!!

  14. I think we are all stressed at times and maybe those times seem to last forever. My biggest weakness is that I have no will power. Love the sweets too and sometimes I forget to eat anything but sweets. I know it changes my mood but I still lack the will power.

Thank goodness you have your crafting and decorating and make all of us feel happier because of what you do. Concentrate on the good things you do and take it one day at a time. All we can do is hang on...and laugh. My favorite comment here was Cynthia who said, "My husband and I started a diet today and the had the missionaries for dinner." Sounds like they ate the missionaries. Made me laugh. I feel better just for laughing.

  16. First off Thanks for being R-E-A-L I am so over the perfection everyone tries to put out there in blog land. Um, I was just caught spoon feeding myself the caramel ice cream sauce from the fridge. I also have finishitis, which is when I open something it has to be finished and gone - finishitis. Total sugar junky.
Oh, and my husband reminds me I am mean and cold blooded at times ( I take after my late Grandmother, she was mean) I am so not pleasant at times. My kids call me Curella DeVille! I wish you luck!

  17. Oh Tausha... I just joined Weight Watchers for the 4th time (3 times after babies, and one just because I was eating myself out of house and home), 2 weeks ago. I feel your pain!!! I promise it will work if you give it time. I have had a few friends who have done it with me over the years, and they were addicted to the diet coke as well. They had to only have one per week to actually lose. I don't know if that's something that would help or not. By the way... I am a total sugar addict. I would eat it all day if I could, and I have. I never even thought of sweetened condensed milk. Why did you tell me that??? ;) When I started 2 weeks ago, I got a debilitating sugar detox headache for a few days. Now I feel so much better. I do miss the sensation though. I am all about flavor, texture, smell, taste. I love food. I admit it. Hang in there! Do you go to Layton WW? I go on Sat mornings if you ever want to meet up! I live in Farmington, and go walking with girlfriends around 8:45 or 9am about 3 or more times a week... if you wanna come! I don't know where you live, but we did see each other at Layton Hobby Lobby, so it might be close. You can do it! You can do it! (I remind myself that every day!)I tell myself... "Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels." I do give myself a free day the day I weigh in. I baked bread yesterday, and had 3 thick pieces slathered with butter and homemade jam. The scale is up this morning. Also... not that you are asking for advice. I am getting bossy - I know. Do you make green smoothies? I like ice, water, cabbage, banana, a large carrot, peaches or strawberries and if I need it, a scoop of vanilla whey protein powder from Costco (I think - hubby buys it). This makes a ton, and is 3 points. You will feel like you are having a tasty treat, and can save some for later. It is 0 points if you don't add the protein, but it won't be as sweet. I also freeze light yogurt if I am needing a sweet treat, or eat 1 triangle of laughing cow cheese with 1 serving of light wheat thins. It is 3 points, and heaven! The queso flavor is the best! I also eat it with carrot chips, as the cheese is only 1 point. K, I am going on and on. Hang in there! I am cheering for you!!! I started a weight loss blog as well. I haven't kept up on it. You just reminded me I need to get back to it. One other thing... I was diagnosed with PCOS. People with PCOS have an extra easy time gaining weight, and typically have insulin resistance. There are drugs for that if you need it, and that happens to be the case with you. You can do it, you can do it!!! If you have found any WW recipes that are tasty, I would love it if you would share!
