Simply A-DOOR-Able!

If you happen to have one of these..

What? You don’t know what that lovely thing is? And there is no possible way that you just have an extra one hanging around your house?  Well, I used to think that too.

Then I started collecting furniture. All kinds, all sizes, all shapes.

I just happened to have a table bottom lying around. It may or may not have been because the top was left out in the rain and well….it kind of split in half.

I wasn’t about to leave a perfectly good, random, table bottom go to waste.

So, I got to thinking and pulled this beauty off the side of my house.

What? You don’t have a collection of random, beautiful, old chippy doors on the side of your house? What the heck is wrong with you?

I need another table for outside dining. Dining sounds so much more classy than hot dogs and hamburgers and a bag of chips. Chips were only if I was having a weak moment at the store.

My husband screwed the door to the table bottom and our A-DOOR-able table was born!

Isn’t she cute?

I love her… a lot!

When I eat, I cover her chipiness up with a tablecloth, just as a precaution. You know, the whole possibility of lead paint..j/k. There is NO lead paint!

Oh how I love a good re-purpose! Especially if it’s cheap!

Now, go and repurpose something forgotten into something fabulous!!

You totally have my permission!

  5. I love your door/table idea!! I made a bench from a kitchen door and two kitchen drawers over at Mel's Designs from the Cabin blog....I added a shelf in the drawers which were lined with burlap...then I painted all of the pieces and placed the door on top of the standing drawers for a cute bench in our den....it holds so many memories for us at the Cabin...Mel
