So..I had to create!
I had the itch!
The itch I get every year around this time.
It hit me when I went to dig out my Halloween books for TV.
I walked up stairs and told my husband it was time.
He looked at me kind of weird and said-Time for what?
I replied with a little gleam in my eye..
He then rolled his eyes.
He just doesn't get it.
That's OK, he gets other stuff, so I guess I'll keep him!
Anyway-this is what I have been doing.
A candy corn topiary.
Really-it's so easy, a little monotonous, yet somewhat stress relieving.
This is what you start with. Candy corn, Styrofoam ball, orange paint and your glue gun.
When I painted my ball-I put in in a cup so I would have something to hold it in place.
A med. size cup is the perfect size for the larger ball.
A top cut off small Diet Coke plastic bottle was perfect for the smaller one.
Tip-you will use more orange paint that you realize.
So..make sure that you have enough.
Now comes the fun part.
Get out your candy corn and glue gun.
My glue gun is a low temp-it worked perfectly for this.
I also used 1 whole bag of candy corn for the smaller size.
By the time you pick through the broken ones-you have just enough
Start gluing. Tip up.
Eventually-you will end up with something similar to this.
Make sure that you don't cover the entire ball with candy.
Also-if you use El-cheapo candy corn-they break.
I don't usually knock the dollar store-but...
I then glued my new corny spiked friend to a old candlestick that I had laying around.
Then I embellished with ribbon and tulle and this funky black, beaded stuff.
I love accessories.
Whether I wear them, or my corny creations do.
I'm not picky.
Finish it off with some glitter spray and
Easy-relaxing and quick self satisfaction.
My kind of project.
Alright-I should shut up now.
Hope I inspired you to do something spooky!!
I'm off to make something else that I don't need.
