I was trying to think of words that would go with fireworks and the whole July theme.
I know that some people don't decorate for the 4th of July.
Ok, I know that I am probably one of the few.
I also change my porch decor for the month of July.
Your thinking I'm a freak...I know...
In this grand old state of Utah-we have 2 July holidays that we celebrate.
So...I get to enjoy all of my"Sizzlin" decor for the whole month!
Thought that I would share a couple of things that I did.
First-I changed my porch.
Who does that right?
Don't get me wrong, it was fine the way it was-it just need some more festive flair.
I hauled up the wagon and went to town. I also added my Star.
I wont put the star on my door because I am afraid it will scratch my newly painted front door-and frankly, I am way too lazy to have to fix it.
My flowers are looking fabulous!! Good thing they don't need a whole lot of attention.
Wonder if I can teach my kids to be more like them...
I only have a few things in the house.
My kitchen table...
Do you love my new pig? What kitchen is complete without a pig?
He was a total impulse purchase, but he makes me happy.
I put my fabulous green plant,
*sidenote-if your local, Rainbow Gardens has the best plants! They are only $12.99*
In a red, white and blue purse!!
My fabulous MIL made the cute runner. I couldn't have glued that one.
I needed to spruce up my apothecary jars.
I wasn't sure what to put in them.
I thought of salt water taffy-but I would have ate that-
I was in the Dollar section at Target the other day and saw these straws.
Festive and cheap! Score!!
See that cute little "POP SHOPPE" bottle?
My friend got me 2 cases of these for $3 at a yard sale!
So cute to just stick around for a fun, unexpected punch of whimsy.
(do you see that lovely rip through my backsplash? You can't even really call it that. My kitchen is going to get an overhaul in a couple weeks! Please ignore it. Thank you TV for giving my husband a deadline!)
I also decked out my Sofa Table.
I change this every season.
It's easy and quick.
If you want to see what it has looked like in the spring-you can see it here
My favorite thing?
The white pitcher.
It was originally ugly and orange with 70's flowers.
I primed it and sprayed it with a semi gloss white.
There is another little bottle hiding in there with a red daisy for some more color.
Am I the only one who smiles when I see them?
Isn't my empty frame awesome?!
I really should put something in it.
I found this fabulous milk glass pedastool bowl for a $1!
I just added some of my decorative balls that were red white and blue.
I also threw in some starry wire thing from the dollar store.
I kind of like funky, wild, sticky up things.
The tins that I have around were made a couple of years ago.
I wanted something festive and cheap.
I just modge podged them with some fun tissue paper and then added some star garland.
The whole project was less than 50 cents each.
I even changed out my books for red and blue.
I know, you were just starting to think that I wasn't THAT crazy.
This little table makes me smile when I walk by.
Please tell me I am not the only one who does this.
