A change will do you good....

So, just in case you had not noticed-
I'm all over a catchy title.
Song titles, my oponions and total randomness.
That's just how I roll.

Anyway, I wanted to share some before and afters of some homes that we recently "SASSIFIED"
And yes, I did just make up that word.

We made a few little changes to their homes.
Simple, not expensive things.
They made such an impact.
Thought that I would share with all of you.
I am so nice and thoughtful right?

This is the before of their family room. There was nothing wrong with her furniture, it just wasn't placed right. Also, the room needed some softening.

We moved the furniture. That is the key-MOVE THE FURNITURE!  We also added some sheers to soften the windows. (Hint-these are super cheap at Wal-mart)  We also love lamps! The lamplight makes the room cozy. It's a simple thing, but makes a big impact.

This home had fabulous stuff! We love stuff! We just moved stuff arond. With this wall-it was all about the scale of the pictures and the furniture.

See-totally better right? She had art work all over her home so we were able to pull this from another space. Doesn't it look like a great place to read book?
Oh to read....
This is her dining room. All of the spaces in her home were in one long room. We needed to break up the space into different areas.
We used a rug to anchor the dining room table. We set the table with her china and added some fresh flowers. The pic of the couch with the fabulous art work is right next to this area of the home. They are a little bit differnt in style-but we pulled them together with color.
I had to show this picture. She had this gorgeous curio that showcased all of her china. She also had a lot of candles that didn't have a home. We leaned this mirror against the wall and put the candles in front for a fun, yet fancy look. It was fabulous lit up. Cozy yet elegant.
I have TV tomorrow. I am off to create!
Wish me Luck!!

  1. Great job! I love how you used HER stuff and worked with what was available instead of going out and spending tons of money. To me, that should be "reality TV."

    Good luck on TV!

  2. I finally made it from Welcome Wednesday and am glad that I did. I've connected as a Google Friend so I'll see your new posts in my daily reader. I am such a sucker for room makeovers. My sister is in the same business in the Chicago area and I used to help whenever I could. You designer types amaze me. I can mimic you pretty well - but I could never compete. Anxious to learn a few sassy tricks from you.

Drop in to my blog when you can. Follow if it intrigues, uplifts or otherwise pleases you. I write about wives encouraging, appreciating and respecting their husbands. I know - it's an old fashioned idea but it could use a modern restoration.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope that my craziness might have inspired you! I would to hear what you have to say. (as long as it is nice)
