Dollar store and Di Love

First-I have to start with my early birthday present.
My sweet husband got me a new camera!
Oh-how desperately I needed this.
Half of the Christmas pics were blurry.
I told him that this was not my only birthday present.
Last time I checked, this was a family gift-everybody uses it.
The best part-he agreed with me!
Guess who's going shopping on her birthday?

I promised you some crafts.
Well-I didn't get everything done-I only did crafts that I could do in a half sitting/half laying position-and on the couch.
These are what I came up with.

This is all my crafty valentine love creations.
So-I found a bag of Styrofoam at the di the other day. It had 3 large Styrofoam balls, a bag of small ones and some other shapes.
I was so excited! You always buy Styrofoam! Always.
Who was I to break the Styrofoam law.

I covered one with red/white/pink yarn from walmart.
The other with a spool of dollar store heart ribbon.
The other one is covered with buttons.
All kinds-red,white,pink hearts, and plain. I just pushed them in to the Styrofoam with white tipped push pins. It was extremely easy and kind of fun.
They will be super cute in a apothecary jar.
I am going to make some with brown buttons as well. Perfect for everyday decor.
Cheap and easy to make. You can buy bags of buttons at michaels. They have all kinds of different colors and they are only 5 bucks or so.
You could make them to match any room.

Last but not least-my heart book.
Kind of along the same lines as the pumpkin books that were all over blog world a year ago.
I thought I would try this and see if it worked.
I love it!
It doesn't sit flat because the heart comes to a point, so I just leaned it on some books.
I also inked the edges with red and pink ink.
Something different to add to your holiday decor.

If you love the LOVE blocks-they are available to purchase in my etsy shop!
Happy Crafting!
If you make any of these ideas-let me know in comments. I would love to see what you create!

  4. I think your heart book is quite cute. I never saw the pumpkin ones. You could do a bunch of different things with it. Was it hard to make? I also love your logo and button for your blog. Very pretty.
