Why in the heck do I have a picture of a blank wall?
Well-I do have a reason, I promise.
This is my downstairs entryway.
In other words, the ugly, blank wall that you see when you walk in from the garage.
If you look close, you can see how not wide this space is.
My family is not very graceful--they tend to hit things with their bodies as they walk. (maybe I should say my HUSBAND is the one who does this)
So, I had to come up with something that was not wide, but would still allow me to cutesify the space.
This is a headboard. Sorry, this is the only before pic that I got.
I know, I know, what was I thinking?
The back was not open like it is now. It was backed with lovely, cheap, crappy particle board.
So, I kicked it out.
Yes-I really did kick it out.
Spray painted in black, sanded the edges and gave it good coat of polyurethane to protect.
I was done in less than an hour.
Now, doesn't the entry way look SOOOO much better? I repurposed a couple of other things in the pic as well.
The hook that the quilt is hanging on I am sure was made for some other purpose.
But, wouldn't you agree, this is much better?
I hung a wreath on top of the frame! I love the dimension that it gives the space.
The little red box thing?
It was a kids tool box that I spray painted red.
So-look around your house. What can you repurpose?
Now, if only I could find a way to repurpose my kids.
Maybe as a silent statues! :)
